From November 7, 1992 until March 22, 2012, I was married to Mark Daves, a really, really, really great guy.

I am now a widow, newly minted. Widow. I don’t even know what that means. I am fond of wearing black, so there’s that. I am also the mother of two teenage boys, a produced playwright and screenwriter, and an educator in a children’s zoo.

Life UnMarked is a grief journal. My creative writing is housed at “The Bottomland,” http://vickicheatwood.wordpress.com/.  The story of Mark’s battle with cancer is recorded here: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/markdaves

None of this feels real.

Your writing is powerful; your experience heartbreaking. Thank you for your candor.
