Damned Do/Don’t

runningI really can’t wait

until the face that I put on

matches the lightning that

still lives in the belly

and puts match to

the pitiful pilot light left

in the darkest corner

of the unchambered

and the brain can risk

return from far-away

I know that you loved me. It’s just feeling it that’s the problem.
